Former Osun State governor, Bisi Akande, has claimed that the 2020 EndSARS protest, which significantly impacted Nigeria’s economy, was orchestrated from the United States with the intention of derailing President Bola Tinubu’s political ambitions.
In an interview on State Affairs with Edmund Obilo, published on YouTube, Akande alleged that the protest was funded by American interests and linked to the Obidient movement.
“EndSARS was designed to be the end of Tinubu. Those behind it knew exactly what they were doing,” he said.
Akande further claimed that the movement was well-funded from America and initially aimed at blocking Tinubu’s path to the presidency. He suggested that after the protests, efforts were made to transform the movement into a political party, but these attempts failed.
