The Kwara State chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has elected Alhaji Isiaka Lamidi Shoku as its new chairman following the successful conduct of its Local and State Congress meetings.
The Local Congress took place on January 13, 2025, while the State Congress was held on January 16, 2025.
Speaking to the media after his emergence, Alhaji Isiaka Lamidi Shoku expressed gratitude for the smooth execution of both congresses despite the challenges faced. He extended appreciation to the party’s founder, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, as well as the National Secretary, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Public Relations Officer (PRO), and other national elders, for their unwavering support and commitment to the growth of the party.
The newly elected chairman urged party members across the country to remain patient, united, and optimistic about the NNPP’s future.
He emphasized the importance of trusting in God’s guidance, stating that the party is poised for greater achievements in the coming years.
Alhaji Shoku acknowledged the critical role played by Dr. Boniface Aniebonam, whom he described as the founder and owner of the party.
He reiterated that Dr. Aniebonam remains in possession of the party’s original certificate and has consistently maintained that he never received financial support from Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso in their political dealings.
According to him, Dr. Aniebonam has personally funded the party’s activities, including elections, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the NNPP’s progress.
Furthermore, Alhaji Isiaka Lamidi Shoku extended his heartfelt appreciation to all ward executives, party members, and state leaders for their steadfast dedication to strengthening the NNPP in Kwara State.
He specifically recognized the contributions of National Treasurer, Prince Omokanye, and National PRO of the party, Mallam Abdulrazaq AbdulSalam, for their continued efforts in ensuring the party remains a formidable force in the state.
With his leadership, Alhaji Shoku pledged to uphold the party’s values, foster unity, and work towards achieving electoral success in Kwara State.
