In a heartwarming gesture of love and mentorship, Mrs. Kafayat Olaitan Oyetola, wife of the Honourable Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, hosted a festive gathering for children at the Minister’s country home in Iragbiji, Osun State.
The event, held as part of her annual yuletide outreach, combined celebration with moral education, leaving an indelible mark on the young participants.
The former First Lady of Osun State used the occasion to highlight the importance of education and the dangers of associating with negative influences. Addressing the children in her signature motherly tone, Mrs. Oyetola urged them to remain focused on their studies, emphasizing that dedication to education is the pathway to success.
In a motivational Yoruba song, she reminded the children:
“Ti o ba kawe re, bata re a ro ko-ko-ka”
(“If you are diligent in your studies, you will succeed and walk the path of greatness.”)

Mrs. Oyetola’s yuletide celebration for children, which predates her husband’s tenure as Governor of Osun State in 2018, has become a cherished tradition in Iragbiji. This year’s event was no exception, as the children were showered with gifts and treated to an atmosphere of love and kindness.
The Honourable Minister, Alhaji Adegboyega Oyetola, also graced the occasion, arriving from Abuja to join his wife in celebrating with the children. His presence further underscored the couple’s unwavering commitment to the welfare of the younger generation.
