President Bola Tinubu has returned to Nigeria following his trip to South Africa, where he co-chaired the 11th session of the Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission (BNC) alongside President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Reports indicate that President Tinubu arrived at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at 9:10 PM. He was welcomed by notable officials, including the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike; the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila; and the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Also present were the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and the FCT Commissioner of Police, Peter Opara.
The 11th session of the BNC featured discussions across eight working groups, each focused on key areas of mutual interest. These included political consultations, consular and migration issues, banking and finance, defence and security, manufacturing, the social sector, mines and energy, and trade and investments.
During the high-level meeting, officials from both nations signed multiple Memoranda of Understanding and agreements to bolster cooperation.
The Nigeria-South Africa Bi-National Commission, established in 1999, aims to enhance the longstanding ties of friendship and collaboration between the two countries.
