The Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South, Arc. Oyelola Ashiru, has initiated the remodeling of selected motor parks across his senatorial district.

The initiative is part of his efforts to improve infrastructure and promote economic development in the region.

On his Facebook post on Tuesday, Ashiru expressed gratitude for the support and enthusiasm shown by the Administrative Council and members of the Kwara State Chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) toward the project.

He emphasized the importance of the initiative in addressing the challenges faced by road users and transport workers.

The reconstruction plan for the motor parks includes:

Proper drainage systems to tackle ecological challenges.

Neat and well-concreted parking lots for orderly vehicle arrangement.

Loading bays to enhance operations.

Access control systems for security.

Toilets and bathroom areas to improve hygiene standards.

Solar-powered streetlights to ensure adequate illumination and safety.

Currently, the Ajase Motor Park and Idi-Ogun Motor Park are undergoing significant upgrades as model projects.

These parks are expected to set the standard for future renovations across the district.

“We remain committed to bringing development to various sectors in our district, ensuring that no one is left behind,” Senator Ashiru affirmed.
