The Offa Volleyball Club (OVC) clinched a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Kano Pillars in the ongoing second phase of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League.
The match, held yesterday at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja, showcased OVC’s resilience and determination.
This league phase follows the first stage of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League, which brought together 24 teams from across the country. The initial stage, also hosted at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, took place from August 24 to September 10, 2024.
The exciting game attracted prominent supporters of the Offa Volleyball Club. Among those in attendance were the Chairman of Offa Local Government Area, Alhaji Sulaiman Olatunji Laaro Omituntun; the Adviser to the Executive Governor of Kwara State on Political Matters, Hon. Abdulwahab Femi Agbaje Whyte; and a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Hon. Teslim Sanni-Aba Balogun.
After the match, the dignitaries commended the team’s performance and encouraged them with monetary rewards. Hon. Femi Agbaje Whyte presented the team with ₦100,000, Alhaji Sulaiman Olatunji contributed ₦80,000, and Hon. Sanni-Aba Balogun added another ₦100,000.
With this victory, the Offa Volleyball Club continues to establish itself as a formidable contender in the league, buoyed by the unwavering support of its community and leaders.
