The Offa Volleyball Club (OVC) paid a courtesy visit to Senator Oyelola Yisa Ashiru, the Deputy Senate Leader and Senator representing Kwara South, at his office in Abuja yesterday.
The visit coincided with OVC’s participation in the second phase of the 2024 Comptroller General of Customs Volleyball Premier League, currently ongoing at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
Led by Coach Suleiman Olayinka Ajeigbe, popularly known as Coach Soba, the delegation received a warm reception from the Senator.
During the visit, Senator Ashiru lauded the team’s consistent efforts and achievements, notably their status as two-time champions of Nigeria’s premier volleyball league.
Speaking about the visit, Coach Ajeigbe said, “The Senator appreciated the club for its relentless drive to be the best and congratulated the team on its past successes. He encouraged the players to continue striving for excellence and promised his unwavering support for youth-centered initiatives.”
In a gesture of encouragement, Senator Ashiru pledged N1 million to assist the team in their ongoing participation in the league.
He reiterated his commitment to supporting projects that empower young people and foster prosperity in his constituency.
