The Ibolo Consumers Advocacy of Nigeria proudly announces a landmark achievement in the nation’s power sector. During the Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting held on Monday, December 16, 2024, the Honourable Minister of Power, Ademola Adedibu, revealed the approval of €161.3 million for Phase 1 of the Siemens Power Project.
This phase focuses on upgrading and constructing substations to enhance Nigeria’s power transmission infrastructure.
We are delighted that the Offa substation, an essential facility installed since 1963, is among the first batch of projects to be upgraded, alongside substations in Onitsha, Abeokuta, Ayede, and Sokoto.
This initiative follows a meeting between President Ahmed Tinubu and Germany’s President, reflecting a strong commitment to resolving Nigeria’s energy challenges.
We extend our deepest gratitude to:

– Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Speaker of the House of Representatives, for his support and responsiveness.

– Balogun Of Offa, Mr. Teslim Balogun, and Mr Tunde Babalola for their instrumental roles in presenting our request to the Speaker through a letter written in August 2024, advocating for the upgrading of Offa’s electricity infrastructure.
We also commend the Federal Government for approving ₦1.7 billion for the acquisition of an office complex for the National Electricity Liability Management Company (NEMCO) in Abuja. This step will strengthen administrative efficiency in addressing electricity liabilities.
This milestone signifies a new era for the Offa and surrounding communities, as the upgraded power infrastructure will foster economic growth and improve quality of life.
