The Kwara State chapter of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has expressed its profound appreciation to Senator Lola Ashiru for his intervention in renovating motor parks in Offa and Ajasse-Ipo.
The union conveyed its gratitude in a letter signed by its State Secretary, Alhaji Aliu Yemi Rasheed, dated December 12, 2024.
In the letter, the union highlighted the long-standing challenges faced by members due to the dilapidated state of the parks.
The union claimed multiple appeals to local government councils had yielded no results, making Senator Ashiru’s gesture particularly significant.
“With this gesture, we believe that you are a God-sent messiah who has come to our aid at a very good time,” the letter read.
The union commended Senator Ashiru for his commitment to improving the welfare and livelihoods of transport workers, contrasting his efforts with the inaction of other politicians.
They noted that his contributions had earned him a place in their “golden book” and pledged to notify the national leadership of the NURTW about his impactful service.
The NURTW also seized the opportunity to appeal for further assistance in renovating other motor parks across the senatorial district, including those in Erin-Ile, Oro, Oke-Onigbin, Omu-Aran, Osi, Share, Igbaja, and Oke-Ode.
“We assure you of our unflinching support in your future ambitions,” the letter concluded.
Senator Lola Ashiru, representing Kwara South at the National Assembly, has been recognized for his community-focused initiatives. The renovation of motor parks is expected to enhance the safety and operational efficiency of transport activities in the region.
