The Jimoh Kolawole Yussuf (JKY) Foundation has officially launched the second batch of its Tech Empowerment Programme, hosted at the One Innovation Hub (ONEIH).

 

The week-long initiative, running from December 16 to 20, 2024, is part of the foundation’s ongoing efforts to equip students with critical digital skills for the 21st century.

 

Participating Schools in Batch 2

The second batch features students from the following schools:

1. Ansar-ul-Islam Senior Secondary School

2. Government Secondary School

3. Tawakalitu Grammar School

4. Moremi High School

5. Okin High School

6. The Federal Polytechnic Offa Staff Secondary School

7. Nawar-Ud-Deen Secondary School

8. St. Mark Secondary School

 

 

The programme commenced with an impressive turnout, including students, teachers, and community leaders.

 

Key dignitaries at the launch included the principals of three participating schools: Mr. Adeyemi, Tawakalitu Grammar School, Mrs. Shittu, Okin High School and Mr. Agboola, Ansar-ul-Islam Senior Secondary School.

 

 

They expressed their appreciation for the initiative, highlighting its potential to transform the future of their students through the acquisition of digital skills.

 

Speaking at the opening session, manager of ONEIH, Mr. Kolawole Wasiu Lawal emphasized the hub’s mission to foster innovation and bridge the digital divide for students in Offa and beyond.

 

“The JKY Foundation’s partnership with ONEIH reinforces its commitment to providing young people with tools to thrive in a rapidly evolving world.

 

“This second batch builds on the success of the first, which concluded last week, leaving students and educators inspired by the program’s impact.

 

“As the training progresses, participants will undergo intensive hands-on sessions designed to boost their digital literacy and problem-solving abilities. The JKY Foundation remains steadfast in its goal of empowering the youth of Offa through technology.”
