The Offa community, like many others, is grappling with the growing menace of drug addiction. The devastating effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and the community as a whole cannot be overstated. It is imperative that the Behavioral Centre in Offa is galvanized to provide a comprehensive response to this crisis.
In 2022, our annual Colloquium focused on this menace with the Chairman of NDLEA, General Mohammed Buba Marwa as the Guest Speaker. The data of narcotics and other substances addiction from that lecture was alarming.
The scourge of drugs addiction is a complex issue that affects people from all walks of life. In Offa, the problem is particularly acute, with many young people falling prey to the allure of narcotics. The consequences are far-reaching, from ruined lives and families to increased crime and social problems.
Hence the intervention of *Galaxy Clique Offa* with an active Behavioral Centre in Offa that would provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental environment for individuals struggling with addiction and other psychological problems to seek help.
The Centre would offer a range of services, including:
1. Counseling Sessions: Individual and group therapy sessions to help individuals understand and overcome their addiction and other psychological glitches.
2. Advocacy Against Narcotics: Education and awareness programs to inform the community about the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of seeking help.
3. Support Groups: Ongoing support groups for individuals in recovery, as well as their families and loved ones.
4. Referral Services: Connections to medical professionals, social services, and other resources to support individuals in their recovery journey.
See you all there tomorrow, 26th December, 2024 at the General Hospital Offa Premises.
