The Governor of Edo State, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved the appointment of Oladele Bankole-Balogun as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue.
In a statement issued on Saturday by the Secretary to the State Government, Umar Ikhilor, other executive directors appointed to the board include Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (Edo Central), Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (Edo North), and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (Edo South).
The statement reads:
“It is hereby announced for the information of the general public that Senator Monday Okpebholo, Governor of Edo State, has approved the nomination of Oladele Bankole-Balogun as the Executive Chairman of the Edo State Board of Internal Revenue.
“Bankole-Balogun, a native of Igarra in Akoko-Edo, holds a B.Sc. in Political Science from the University of Ibadan (1984), an LLB from the University of London, and a Postgraduate Diploma in Law from the College of Law, Store Street, London.
“He is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales, the Nigerian Bar Association, the International Bar Association, and the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (UK).
“Bankole-Balogun has extensive experience across various sectors. He previously worked with Cadbury Nigeria Plc (1985–1989) and Pfizer UK (1989–1994). He has also served as Chairman of Alphabet House Ltd and the Barking and Havering Hospital Trust Appointments Board. Additionally, he was a Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission (2012–2015) representing Edo State.
“Politically, Bankole-Balogun has been a candidate for the House of Representatives in Akoko-Edo Federal Constituency and recently served as a member of the APC Campaign Council for the 2024 Governorship Elections in Edo State.
“Other newly appointed Executive Directors are Deacon Idiake Patrick Akhimien (Edo Central), Hon. Mike Ohio Ezomo (Edo North), and Hon. Engr. Jackson Eribo (Edo South).”
