The Dangote Refinery has announced the export of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol) to Cameroon, Angola, Ghana, and South Africa in recent weeks.
In a statement by Dangote Group spokesperson Anthony Chijiena, the company’s Vice President of Oil and Gas, Devakumar Edwin, revealed this while hosting a delegation from the Japanese Business Community in Nigeria. The delegation was led by Japan’s Ambassador-designate to Nigeria, Suzuki Hideo.
Edwin confirmed that Dangote Refinery’s petroleum products meet international standards and are now being exported globally. He highlighted that, in addition to petrol, diesel has been shipped to markets worldwide, and jet fuel is being heavily exported to Europe.
“In recent weeks, we’ve exported petrol to Cameroon, Ghana, Angola, and South Africa, among others. Diesel has reached global markets, and jet fuel is in high demand in European markets. Our products are already making a global impact,” Edwin stated.
The Managing Director of the Japan External Trade Organisation, Takashi Oku, also praised the refinery as a symbol of Nigeria’s technological progress.
“The Dangote Refinery is a remarkable project showcasing Nigeria’s technological advancements. Seeing it in person has left us truly amazed by its vast scale and grandeur. This facility is a point of immense pride for Nigeria and demonstrates the country’s growth and development. We are eager to collaborate with Nigerian companies, especially the Dangote Refinery,” Oku remarked.
The Dangote Refinery recently confirmed the commencement of petrol exports to Cameroon, solidifying its role as a major player in the global energy market.
