Senate President Godswill Akpabio has named the outgoing Clerk of the Senate, Chinedu Akabueze, as his new Chief of Staff.
Akabueze succeeds Sylvester Okonkwo, who has been appointed Executive Director of the newly established South East Development Commission.
Having served as Senate Clerk since March 4, 2022, Akabueze is retiring upon reaching the mandatory retirement age of 60.
Meanwhile, the National Assembly Service Commission has approved Andrew Ogbonnaya Nwoba as the new Clerk of the Senate, effective December 11, 2024.
