Fenerbahce manager José Mourinho has responded to rumors suggesting he is set to sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Al-Nassr.
Ronaldo, a key figure in Al-Nassr’s recent successes since joining in 2023, is nearing the end of his contract, sparking speculation about a potential reunion with Mourinho in Turkey.
However, Mourinho dismissed the reports, calling them “ridiculous” and joking that Ronaldo would only visit Turkey for food or to catch up with him.
“News about Cristiano Ronaldo joining Fenerbahce is ridiculous,” Mourinho said. “Cristiano might come to Istanbul to eat—it’s conveniently located between Saudi Arabia and Portugal. Or perhaps he’ll visit his old friend José; we can enjoy a meal at my hotel!”
Mourinho and Ronaldo previously worked together at Real Madrid from 2010 to 2013, winning La Liga in their second season.
Ronaldo, now 39, joined Al-Nassr on a two-year deal in December 2022 following his high-profile departure from Manchester United.
