In a continuation of his commitment to enhancing healthcare access for his constituents, Dr Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe, the immediate past Senator representing Kwara Central, on Wednesday, 13th November 2025, facilitated the delivery of essential drugs and medications valued at N20 million to two primary healthcare facilities within the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
This intervention, executed as part of the 2024 Capital Projects under the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), directly benefitted the Ali-Maiyaki Primary Health Centre located in Akerebiata, Ibagun Ward of Ilorin East Local Government Area, and the Emir’s Palace Health Centre situated within the Emir’s Palace in the Magajin Geri Ward of Ilorin West Local Government Area.
Represented by his aides, Mr Kola Elekoyangan and Mr Dayo Saad, Dr Oloriegbe emphasized the significance of access to essential medications for the effective operation of health facilities. He indicated that his decision to facilitate this intervention arose from the necessity to ensure that quality healthcare services are accessible to the most vulnerable populations within the community. Dr Oloriegbe encouraged residents to utilize these facilities, reassuring them that medications are now available to address various health issues typically managed at primary care centres. These health concerns include malaria, respiratory infections, gastrointestinal disorders, maternal and child health services, as well as chronic disease management.
The Emir of Ilorin, Alh. Dr Ibrahim Sulu Gambari CFR, represented by the Seriki Dongari of Ilorin, Malam Sanusi Lukman; and the Vice Chairman of Ilorin East LGA, Hon. Nafisat Ibrahim, along with representatives from the community and management teams of the Ali-Maiyaki Primary Health Centre and the Emir’s Palace Health Centre, expressed their gratitude to Dr. Ibrahim Yahaya Oloriegbe. They highlighted his unwavering dedication to the welfare of Kwara Central, noting that his initiatives have not only improved healthcare access but have also exemplified continued kindness toward the communities. They recognized that his commitment to providing high-quality, reliable health services continues to significantly impact the lives of the constituents he serves, both during and beyond his tenure in public office, expressing prayers for divine strength and guidance in his endeavours.
It is noteworthy that during his time in the Senate, Dr Oloriegbe equipped over 15 health centres across Kwara Central and implemented a range of other impactful healthcare initiatives. These undertakings include the establishment of the Federal Neuropsychiatric Hospital in Budo-Egba and the Idi-Isin Comprehensive Health Centre in Okolowo, both of which have significantly enhanced healthcare accessibility and resources within the state.
