The House of Representatives has approved a motion seeking the removal of Umar Danladi, Chairman of the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT).
The motion, initiated by the House Majority Leader, Julius Ihonvbere (APC, Edo), referenced Section 17(3) of the Fifth Schedule of the 1999 Constitution.
According to constitutional provisions, Danladi’s removal requires the support of two-thirds of the House’s 360 members.
This development follows a similar resolution by the Senate last week, where a motion for Danladi’s removal was introduced by Senate Majority Leader Opeyemi Bamidele.
