The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB) has announced the first batch of successful candidates in its recently concluded recruitment exercise. The list comprises 5,600 newly recruited primary school teachers and 80 caregivers, marking a significant milestone in the state’s education development efforts.
Dr. Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, the Chairman of SUBEB, disclosed the development in Ibadan. He confirmed that the recruitment list had been approved by the Oyo State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde. According to Dr. Adeniran, this first batch of candidates was carefully selected based on merit, ensuring a transparent and unbiased process free from political, religious, ethnic, or gender prejudice.
How to Check the List
Applicants have been advised to check their status by visiting the state job portal at https://www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng. The portal will be updated with the list of successful candidates starting Saturday, November 23, 2024.
Dr. Adeniran noted that all selected teachers and caregivers must undergo a verification exercise at the SUBEB headquarters. Further details, including the specific dates and requirements for the verification, will be communicated to the candidates in due course.
Recruitment Exercise to Continue
The SUBEB Chairman emphasized that this is just the beginning of the recruitment process, with plans to engage more successful applicants in subsequent batches. He called on the newly recruited teachers to see their employment as a call to service, urging them to demonstrate diligence and commitment to their roles.
“This recruitment is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to improve the quality of education in Oyo State,” Dr. Adeniran said. “We are determined to ensure that only the most qualified individuals are employed to nurture and educate our children.”
