I was one of the people who really felt it inside of me when, in a deeply emotional moment, Nollywood actor Aremu Afolayan publicly apologized to his brother Kunle Afolayan during their mother’s funeral.
I don’t know which one hit me more: brothers’ reconciliation or the fact that it took death of their mother to reconcile them.
I even had my eye balls wet. Sorry for being so emotional. I had lost that slippery angel called Mother and I know what it is like.
In the footage only, Aremu acknowledged the pain caused by their strained relationship, saying, “I’m sorry for putting you through Instagram backlash; it’s because I love you. My money is not in this house, but he built it for all of us. Thank you, Brother Kunle.”
The heartfelt gesture highlighted the enduring bond between the siblings despite past misunderstandings.
The reconciliation took place at the final rites for their late mother, Omoladun Ayanladun Afolayan, who passed away earlier this month. It must have dawn on them that their mother would have last link to reconcile them. I can only imagine the efforts she must have made to reconnect the brothers.
Indeed, the scenery again proved that women are indeed the pillar of the family.
Aremu’s public apology during this sorrowful period served as a reminder of the importance of family and reconciliation.
