Agents from two major political parties were observed arriving at the Anglican Primary School in Irele Local Government Area, Ondo State, with large sums of cash.
One female agent was seen brandishing her money to voters, urging them to quickly check their names on the electoral register.
Our correspondent, stationed at the scene, witnessed the agent using the cash as a means to emphasize her seriousness about engaging in the suspected vote-buying activities.
In addition, another agent arrived in a minivan carrying a Ghana-must-go bag filled with cash, and was observed compiling a list.
Several other party agents approached her for discussions.
A local resident informed our correspondent that the woman with the minivan is a well-known agent for the party (name of party withheld) in the area.
When asked about her decision to participate in the voting process during her late pregnancy, a resident remarked, “dibo ko sebe,” which translates to “vote and cook a pot of soup,” alluding to the money she hopes to obtain from the agents.
