The governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi, has emerged victorious at his polling unit, securing 194 votes in Kiribo, Ese Odo Council Area. Ajayi defeated his main rival, Governor Lucky Ayedatiwa of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered only 3 votes.
Ajayi, a former deputy governor, voted at Apoi Ward II, Unit 004 on Saturday alongside his wife, under tight security provided by the Nigerian Police and Civil Defence. They arrived at the polling booth around 10:36 am and were allowed to cast their votes before others in the queue, being accredited at approximately 10:45 a.m.
After casting his vote, Agboola voiced concerns about the electoral process, alleging significant irregularities during the governorship election.
