The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has officially begun the process of accrediting centres for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
This accreditation marks a critical initial phase in preparing for the annual examination.
In a statement signed by Dr. Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Director of Communications, JAMB emphasized that all new Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres intending to participate in the 2025 UTME must review the requirements for establishing a JAMB-approved CBT centre on the Board’s website.
The centres must then formally notify JAMB of their interest by sending a letter addressed to the Registrar, through either the Zonal Director or the State Coordinator in their respective states.
The statement further detailed that CBT centres that were successfully accredited and operated during the 2024 UTME without any incidents are expected to register their continued interest through the Centre Management System (CMS) Portal. To facilitate the registration of new centres, the Zonal and State Offices will create accounts for them on the CMS Portal.
Additionally, all centres must conduct an Autobot/Autotest at a date to be announced as part of their preparation for the Board’s physical accreditation visit. This test is mandatory; only centres that complete it successfully and meet all necessary requirements will qualify for a physical inspection. Centres that do not achieve satisfactory results during this stage will not be revisited by the Board.
Those centres that meet the stipulated criteria following both the Autobot/Autotest and physical accreditation will be approved and included for the 2025 UTME registration and examination processes.
The physical accreditation exercise is scheduled for December 2024, with qualifying centres to be informed of specific dates.
