The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has pledged to Ondo voters that it will deliver a seamless experience in the governorship election scheduled for Saturday. The commission expressed its preparedness for the polls amid calls for active participation from voters.

Professor Kunle Ajayi, the INEC National Commissioner overseeing Ondo, Ogun, and Osun States, delivered this assurance on Channels Television’s Politics Today while in Akure, the Ondo State capital. He emphasized that the electoral body is committed to fulfilling its duties as voters head to the polls to elect a new governor to lead the Sunshine State for the next four years.

“We have done our part, and we are proud of our efforts. We will not disappoint the people of Ondo State,” said Ajayi.

On Thursday, INEC began distributing sensitive election materials to various local government areas in preparation for the election. This distribution took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) premises in Alagbaka, Akure, and was conducted under the watchful eyes of party agents and armed police personnel, utilizing several commercial buses arranged by the Commission.

Ajayi highlighted that, unlike the challenges faced during the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, all registered areas in Ondo have received their sensitive materials. “I want to assure you that everything will go well. As of 3 PM, all the Registered Areas (RAs) had received their sensitive materials. The next step is to move to the Polling Unit (PU). I visited some of the RAs this afternoon,” he added.
