A fire outbreak at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology (LAUTECH) Teaching Hospital has caused extensive damage to property worth millions of naira. The incident occurred in the Accident and Emergency Unit of the hospital, leaving patients and staff scrambling for safety.
The fire, which reportedly started in the early hours of today, created a chaotic scene as medical personnel and bystanders worked to evacuate patients. Witnesses described thick plumes of smoke billowing from the building, with fire consuming critical medical equipment and infrastructure within minutes.
Emergency responders, including firefighters, rushed to the scene to contain the blaze. However, significant damage had already been done by the time the fire was brought under control.
