The Governing Council of the Federal University Lokoja (FUL) has approved the dismissal of four lecturers due to allegations of examination misconduct and sexual harassment.

Reports indicate that as of Thursday evening, the institution had not disclosed the identities of the dismissed lecturers.

The Council, chaired by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba, made the decision during its second meeting, where it commended the university’s management for adhering to due process in investigating the allegations against the lecturers. Senator Ndoma-Egba emphasized that the university maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward unethical behavior within its community.

“I am urging the University to expedite the processing of pending misconduct cases, particularly one involving the Faculty of Science that has been drawing public attention,” he stated.

He cautioned staff and lecturers to strictly adhere to institutional rules, reiterating that the university will not ignore or cover up any act of misconduct.

Senator Ndoma-Egba also encouraged students to report any incidents of harassment or misconduct to the appropriate authorities without fear.
