Dr. Oyewale Rasaq Omoniyi, the Chief Babalaje of Offaland and a distinguished academic leader, has been honoured by Lions International Ilorin Central Lions Club, District 404B2 Nigeria with a merit award.
The event recognized his remarkable contributions to education and community development.
Dr. Oyewale, who serves as the founder of the University of Offa, is a respected figure in Nigeria’s education sector. He is the current National President for Private Colleges of Education in Nigeria and the National Chairman for the Nawairudeen Society of Nigeria, Northern Zone.
Additionally, he had served as President of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS), Kwara State chapter.
The public presentation and installation ceremony of Lion Dr. M.S. Adeyemi, Ph.D., FNIM, NLCF, as the 36th Club President of the Ilorin Central Lions Club, served as the backdrop for this recognition.
The event also included the installation of club officers for the 2024/2025 Lions service year and a fundraising initiative to support club projects.
The ceremony took place on Friday, November 29, 2024, at 2 PM at The Polytechnic Igbo Owu, Off Asa Dam Road, Ilorin.
The gathering brought together dignitaries, community leaders, and Lions Club members to celebrate leadership, service, and philanthropy.
