The Ajase-Ipo Volleyball Club (AVC) has paid homage to His Royal Majesty, Oba Ismail Yahaya Atoloye Alebiosu, the Olupo of Ajase-Ipo, at his palace to express gratitude for his support and blessings that contributed to the team’s recent success.
Led by Head Coach Afelele Taiye Hassan, AVC players presented the trophy they won at the recently concluded National Division II League, organized by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, held in Umuahia, Abia State.
During the visit, the team extended their appreciation to the monarch for his unwavering support and congratulated him on the victory, which they dedicated to the royal father and the entire community.
Oba Alebiosu, while commending the team’s achievements, engaged in a discussion about the club’s challenges, especially their need for a dedicated training court.
Expressing deep concern, the Olupo appealed to the Ajase-Ipo Descendant Union and prominent members of the community to assist in constructing a well-equipped, world-class volleyball court.
He emphasized that such a facility would not only boost local sports development but also attract national tournaments hosted by the Nigeria Volleyball Federation, fostering growth and bringing recognition to Ajase-Ipo.
The Olupo pledged his continued support for the club and advised the players to stay steadfast, focused, and resilient in their athletic careers.
He also encouraged them with words of optimism, noting a bright future ahead for each of them.
