Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar recently welcomed Peter Obi, the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, to his residence in Adamawa State.

Atiku shared the visit through a video posted on X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday. The accompanying caption read, “It is breakfast time with my friend, #PeterObi, in the ‘land of beauty.’”

The video showed Atiku and Obi seated at a dining table alongside others, preparing to share a meal.

This marks another meeting between the two leaders following the 2023 presidential election. Their last meeting occurred in May this year.

In the same month, Obi also visited former Jigawa State Governor Sule Lamido and former Senate President Bukola Saraki at their Abuja residences. These visits were significant as they represented Obi’s first interactions with his former political allies since his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the Labour Party (LP) in May 2022.

Yunusa Tanko, Chief Spokesman for Obi’s Presidential Campaign Organisation, stated that these meetings were aimed at discussing strategies to “rescue the soul of Nigeria” from the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
