The Committee For The Defence of Human Rights (CDHR) strongly condemns the tragic and brutal murder of Awesu Mojishola, a promising young graduate of the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, Kwara State.
This senseless act of violence has shocked the community and left us deeply saddened.
We have been made aware that Prophet Adeniyi Adebayo, also known as Prophet Ogunse, and his son, Adebayo Happiness Promise, have been taken into custody in connection with this heinous crime.
According to reports, Promise Happiness, the son of the founder of The Light of God Miracle Embassy Church Worldwide, is the prime suspect in this case. It is alleged that Promise lured the victim from Offa to a hotel in Ilorin, where this dreadful incident occurred.
The CDHR calls on the Nigeria Police Force to conduct a thorough and transparent investigation into this case. It is imperative that justice is swiftly served, not only for the sake of the victim and her grieving family but also to restore faith in our justice system and deter such egregious acts in the future.
We also urge the public to remain vigilant and to cooperate fully with law enforcement agencies in their efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice. This tragic incident underscores the need for increased protection of our citizens, especially the youth, from those who would seek to exploit or harm them.
The CDHR stands with the family of Awesu Mojishola in this difficult time and assures them of our unwavering support in their pursuit of justice. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and provide necessary assistance to ensure that the truth prevails.
Signed:
Comrade Diya Akintunde,
State Publicity Secretary,
