…Army Chief lauds Gov’s support in Kwara, North Central
The Governor of Kwara State, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has commended the Nigerian Army for its unwavering support in maintaining internal security in the country. The Governor made this statement during the commissioning of a Computer-Based Testing (CBT) center in Igbaja, Ifelodun Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The CBT center, a special intervention project of the Chief of Army Staff (CoAS), Lieutenant General T. A. Lagbaja, was executed by Major General Adelokun Eyitayo, a serving military officer and native of Igbaja Land. Eyitayo also launched his three books at the event.
The Governor emphasized the importance of recognizing the sacrifices made by security agencies, including those deployed in internal operations and emergencies. He commended the Federal Government and the CoAS for establishing the CBT center, which will aid skill acquisition and boost socioeconomic growth in the area.
AbdulRazaq urged citizens to appreciate and honor members of their security forces, including military personnel deployed in internal operations and during emergencies, and cease all attacks on them.
The commissioning ceremony was attended by various dignitaries, including the CoAS, who was represented by Maj Gen Obinna Onubogu; the Elese of Igbajaland Oba Ahmed Awuni Arepo III; and Igbaja CBT Project Executor Major General Adelokun Eyitayo; among others.
In his address, the Army Chief thanked Governor AbdulRazaq and the people of the state for their continued support for the operations of the Nigerian Army.
The Governor also attended the 2024 Igbaja Day celebration, where he urged the people of Igbaja to continue recognizing their rich cultural heritage and diversity. He congratulated the Elese of Igbaja, Jagunmolu of Igbaja and founder of Al-hikmah University Chief Oladimeji Igbaja, and all sons and daughters of Igbaja community on the celebration.
The Governor praised Chief Oladimeji for his time management and praised his administration’s efforts to improve the lives of people across the state, including Igbajaland.
