Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has formally approved the appointment of Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakuleyin as the 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, following a rigorous process that adheres to the state’s laws and regulations governing royal succession.

 

In a statement released by the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Honourable Olusegun Olayiwola, Governor Makinde exercised his constitutional powers conferred by Section 19 (Cap 28) of the Oyo State Law of 2000 (as amended), as evidenced by a memo dated June 14, 2024.

 

The governor extended his warm congratulations to the newly appointed Olubadan, wishing him a successful tenure that will bring about transformative development and progress in Ibadanland and Oyo State at large.

 

The state government will announce the date for the coronation and presentation of the staff of office to Olakulehin in due course.
