Honourable Azeez Oyeyemi Olanrewaju Omoluabi, a distinguished businessman and aspirant for the Offa Local Government Chairmanship under the All Progressives Congress (APC), has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Muslims on the occasion of Eid-Ul-Adha.

Eid-Ul-Adha, also known as the “Festival of Sacrifice,” holds profound significance in the Islamic faith. It commemorates the ultimate act of devotion and submission to God, as demonstrated by the prophet Ibrahim. According to Islamic tradition, Ibrahim was commanded by Allah to sacrifice his beloved son. Displaying unwavering obedience, Ibrahim prepared to fulfil this divine command. However, Allah, moved by Ibrahim’s devotion, intervened and provided a lamb to be sacrificed instead.

In his message, Honourable Omoluabi emphasized the spiritual and communal essence of Eid-Ul-Adha, urging Muslims to embody the virtues of sacrifice, compassion, and unity that the festival represents. He highlighted the importance of the communal prayers held on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic lunar calendar, which brings together Muslims in mosques worldwide to foster spiritual unity and collective worship.

Central to the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha is the tradition of “Qurbani,” or animal sacrifice. This act symbolizes Ibrahim’s willingness to obey Allah’s command, and it involves the sacrifice of an animal such as a lamb, camel, or goat. The meat from the sacrificed animal is typically distributed among family, friends, and those in need, reflecting the values of generosity and charity.

Honourable Omoluabi also called on the Muslim community in Offa and beyond to use this period to strengthen bonds of brotherhood and support for one another, particularly in these challenging times. He reaffirmed his commitment to serving the people of Offa Local Government with integrity and dedication, inspired by the principles of sacrifice and service inherent in the celebration of Eid-Ul-Adha.

In closing, Honourable Omoluabi extended his best wishes for a joyous and peaceful Eid-Ul-Adha to all Muslims, praying for blessings, prosperity, and the continued harmony of the community.
