The Kwara State Government has issued a stern warning to principals of Junior Secondary Schools and head teachers of primary schools across the state regarding illegal charges for the state placement examination (Common Entrance).
Hajia Sa’adatu Modibbo Kawu, the state Commissioner for Education and Human Capital Development, emphasized in her office in Ilorin on Tuesday that the common entrance examination is free. She cautioned that any violator of this directive would face severe legal consequences.
Kawu reiterated that the state government fully sponsors the examination and will not tolerate any form of extortion from pupils. She urged school administrators to refrain from engaging in activities that could tarnish the reputation of the state government.
Furthermore, Kawu warned against aiding and abetting examination malpractices, affirming the administration’s zero-tolerance stance on such misconduct.
Encouraging parents and guardians to report any suspicious behavior by principals or head teachers directly to her office, she assured them of an open-door policy for addressing concerns related to the examination process.
