Happiness Imperial College clinched first place in the prestigious Offa Students Union (OSU) National Headquarters Quiz Competitionfor secondary schools.
The event was held at Oyeleke Hall within the Offa Grammar School (OGS) premises.
Offa Grammar School secured second place, while Government Secondary School took third.
The competition is part of a series of three-day educational programmes organized by the OSU National Headquarters, under the leadership of Comrade Soliu Olaiya Mubarak, also known as Biggy.
Participating schools included Ansarul-Islam Secondary School, Olalomi Comprehensive College, Broms International School, Tawakalitu Grammar School, Moremi High School, Biljuf Secondary School, St. Mark’s Secondary School, Nawar-Ud-Deen Senior Secondary School, and Mustapha Standard School.
The quiz competition highlighted the academic excellence and competitive spirit among students from various secondary schools, fostering an environment of learning and camaraderie.
JAAT, born Taofik Adekunle Jimoh, holds both Ordinary National Diploma (OND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) certificates in Mass Communication from the Federal Polytechnic, Offa. He is currently pursuing a BSc in the same field at Summit University, Offa. His academic journey has provided him with a solid foundation, and he is always eager to contribute his knowledge, experience, skills, and passion to the glory of Mass Communication as a field of study.
During his undergraduate years, he actively engaged in journalism, starting with the Republican Newspaper, an online platform, from 2016 to 2019. He further honed his skills as a Correspondent at Affairs TV (Affairstv.com) from September 2021 to September 2022. Additionally, his role as the Public Relations Officer at Wolf Group of Companies from September 2021 to January 2022 enhanced his understanding of media relations and communication strategies.
In May 2022, he founded News Bulletin Nigeria (Newsbulletin.com.ng), showcasing his entrepreneurial spirit and commitment to staying at the forefront of media trends. As a Guest Writer for PIJAlance Magazine (pija.com.ng) and a correspondent for Osun Spring Newscaster (Osunspring.com), he has consistently demonstrated his ability to produce high-quality content and engage diverse audiences.
In August 2022, he became a Part-Time lecturer at the Polytechnic Ojoku.
His professional experiences also extend to a 6-month internship as a media content creator and publisher at One Innovation Hub Offa (ONEIH) and a role as a SIWES Facilitator at Lens Polytechnic Offa.
These experiences have equipped him with the practical knowledge necessary to bridge the gap between theory and application in the classroom.
Beyond his professional endeavors, he is an active member of Amnesty International Nigeria, One.org, and the Committee for the Defence of Human Rights (CDHR). These affiliations underscore his commitment to social justice and human rights values.
