Lawmaker representing Obokun State Constituency, Adewumi Adeyemi, popularly known as Irekandu, has launched the maiden edition of The New Generation Leader Summit 1.0 with 30 participants.
The New Generation Leader Summit is a leadership development program aimed at equipping future leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills, connections, and deliberate directions to thrive and navigate through challenges or obstacles in providing leadership at all levels.
Adeyemi, while addressing the inaugural 30 participants, mentioned that the event coincides with his birthday because he finds fulfillment in impacting the upcoming generation as a means toward nation-building.
Adeyemi, who doubles as the convener, also announced that the event will take place every three months to mentor the initial participants and expand the network of NewGen Leaders.
Bamikole Omishore, SSA to Governor Ademola Adeleke, while speaking on the theme “Empowering the Next Generation of Leaders,” emphasized the importance of financial knowledge and management expertise for NewGen Leaders.
He urged the participants to curb their expenses to strengthen their financial position before venturing into politics, as without a stable income, the temptation to join politics could compromise their vision and service.
Similarly, he admonished the participants to start building integrity and be more mindful of their actions, as their present deeds will shape their ability to manage future leadership roles.
