OKAF Foundation, a non-governmental organization, marked the conclusion of 2023 by bringing joy to the residents of Ikire in Irewole Local Government, Osun state. Through the distribution of food items, sewing machines, and cash gifts, the foundation, in its third annual initiative in the community, made a significant impact.
Reports from Affairs TV highlighted additional endeavors of the foundation, including a scholarship scheme for university students and an empowerment program aiding business owners in need of financial rejuvenation or those seeking to establish new ventures.
During the 2023 edition, beneficiaries received substantial support, such as bags of rice and cash gifts, with two fashion designers being empowered through the provision of brand-new sewing machines.
In an interview with Affairs TV in Ikire, Osun state, Founder of OKAF Foundation, Mr. Ogundele Kayode Adekunle, emphasized the foundation’s commitment to supporting the Ikire community across various sectors, including education and poverty alleviation.
“We established this foundation with the sole purpose of supporting our community in areas such as education and poverty alleviation. While we have been actively involved for some years, this marks the formalization of our third annual initiative. I believe in discreet acts of generosity, and although we’re now seeking support, our efforts have been fueled by personal funds,” stated Mr. Ogundele.
He further explained the foundation’s involvement in healthcare, saying, “We have individuals supported at Ikire Mercy Hospital, and in the education sector, numerous students benefit from our scholarship scheme in various universities.”
Beneficiaries, expressing gratitude to OKAF Foundation in interviews with Affairs TV, lauded the initiative for its impartial and compassionate support, emphasizing that it was the first time they experienced such assistance without bias or sentiment.
