The Offa Volleyball Club has installed a training wall at Offa Grammar School Volleyball Court, dedicated to Prof. Adeshola Adepoju, a former director-general of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria (FRIN).
Prof Adepoju is an Alumni of Offa Grammar School, a philanthropist and a former Volleyball player.
Coach Suleiman Olayinka Ajeigbe, also known as Coach Soba, expressed that the wall will significantly improve players’ training in dig pass, volley pass, set, and ball contacts—an essential aspect of grassroots development.
The construction and naming of the wall after Prof. Adepoju highlight his significant contributions to the Club and grassroots volleyball development in Kwara State. He is recognized as the founder and sole sponsor of the Kwara State Secondary School Volleyball Competition, known as D-Kids.
“The wall was constructed by Offa Volleyball Club and named after Prof. Adeshola Adepoju for his contribution towards the progress of the club and grassroots volleyball development in Kwara State, which has metamorphosed into a huge success. He is the founder and sole sponsor of the All Kwara State Secondary School Volleyball Competition (known as D-Kids),” he added.
