The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), the Osun State Broadcasting Cooperation (OSBC) Chapel, and the Management of Igbajo Polytechnic, situated in Igbajo, Osun State, have entered into a collaborative partnership with the aim of positively influencing the lives of students and youths, acknowledged as future leaders. This bilateral agreement, formalized during a courtesy visit on Wednesday, December 6, 2023, involved the executive committee of NUJ, OSBC Chapel, led by Chairman Alhaji Lateef Agboola, engaging with the administration of the first community-owned polytechnic in Nigeria.
Dr. Abdganiyu Adebisi, the newly appointed Rector of Igbajo Polytechnic, expressed gratitude to the NUJ, OSBC Chapel, for their visit and commended their proactive efforts to bring about positive change in the lives of the youth. Dr. Adebisi pledged to diligently implement the proposed initiatives once they are documented. Emphasizing the importance of community collaboration, he highlighted the ongoing efforts by the people of Igbajo in addressing the country’s unemployment challenges.
During the visit, NUJ, OSBC Chapel Chairman, Comrade Lateef Agboola, congratulated Dr. Abdganiyu Adebisi on his appointment as the new Rector and urged the school’s management to join hands with the union in a bilateral relationship. This partnership aims to contribute to the development and future prospects of the students through the involvement of experienced journalists and other accomplished individuals.
In addition to the collaboration with Igbajo Polytechnic, the executive members of NUJ, OSBC Chapel extended their visit to the palace of Olororuwo of Ororuwo in Boripe local government area of Osun state, Oba Qamarudeen Adeyanju Alawode the fourth. The royal figure encouraged transparency and godly leadership among the union’s leadership, offering royal blessings to the NUJ executive members, the OSBC family, Osun State, and Nigeria as a whole.
