It was glamorous as Sonmori Senior Comprehensive High School, Ifako ijaiye, Lagos state, honoured the family of Hon. Adeshina Ganiu Oyerinde with house name at the 2023 Inter-house Sports Competition of the school.
Oyerinde house, which was assigned as blue house, came first at the end of the keenly contested Inter House Sports Competition. HON Oyerinde Adeshina was part of 1998/1999 set of the school.
The principal of the school Mrs. Arinola Salako expressed her satisfaction on the role being playing by some of the alumni of the school, noting that Hon Adeshina Ganiu Oyerinde was one of the philanthropists and a politician of note, who has demonstrated capacity building and community service.
This year, the inter House sports competition of Sonmori Comprehensive High School was unique for honourable Adesina Oyerinde, as it fell on the 25th Anniversary of the school.
Responding, Hon. Adesina Oyerinde expressed his appreciation to Almighty God for bringing the name to the higher level just as he appreciated the family of Oyerinde for standing with him all the time of his political journey.
Baru Omo Oninuure, as he is fondly called by his supporters specially thanked his father and mentor, Elder kola oyerinde for always being there and the Asiwaju of ikirun land, DIG Gazal Adewale Lawal, for being a model father to him as well as all his supporters, pledging to always be a good ambassador at all times.
