The Offa Descendants’ Union, ODU, under the leadership of Alhaji Muideen Azeez Olaniyi Salako, has commended the Kwara State Government under the leadership of the governor of the state, HE Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, for the ongoing rehabilitation of roads within Offa and its environment.
ODU observed that some roads, such as Orita Merin-OGS Road, Tipper Garage Road, General Hospital-Federal Polytechnic-Ojoku Road, Owode Market Road, and Eesa Road, are undergoing rehabilitation to ease the movement of people and products. The union believes that the rehabilitation of these roads, when completed, will drastically reduce the frequent cases of auto accidents within the town. It will also boost the economic activities of the people.
The union is hopeful that the rehabilitation will cover all other damaged roads, especially the Level Cross/Olofa Way, Offa-Adesoye College-Igosun Road, Offa-Ipee Road, and St. Clare’s-Rondo-Ikotun Road, among others in the town. ODU pleaded with the state government to strictly supervise the construction firm carrying out the repairs to ensure quality work and timely completion of the roads.
The union also urged the state government to construct more ring roads within the Offa metropolis, such as Owode-Adeleke Road, to serve as an alternative to Olofa Way. The union also reminds the state governments to start work on upgrading the Olofa Stadium, which has been approved since 2021, as well as other infrastructure in the town that needs the government’s attention.
