A political group under the aegis of Osun Leadership Forum has described the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Ajibola Basiru as a “ranting bird” over his reported utterances against Governor Ademola Adeleke, on Saturday.

Basiru had called on members of Osun APC party to resolve their differences so as to send Adeleke packing from office in 2026. He added that Osun people that voted the current administration in the state were already regretting their actions.

In its reaction, Osun Leadership Forum on Monday said nothing short of those utterances are expected from a loser.

This was contained in a statement jointly sighed by Honourable Sola Makanjuola and Comrade Oluwasanmi A. Olabisi, the Chairman and spokesperson of the Forum respectively.

It reads, “our attention has been drawn to the criticism made by Sen. Ajibola Basiru, The present National Secretary of the All Progressive Congress at a reception organized for him by the APC Leadership of Osogbo Federal Constituency declaring Gov. Ademola Adeleke who is from the party that defeated and stopped him from going to Senate for second term incompetent.

“What do we expect from a loser ? A loser rants like bird and will never be happy to see something good about a winner. Lest we forget, that Sen. Ajibola who spent four years at the house of Senate was defeated by Sen. Fadeyi who had never held any post in politics before. This kind of statement against the people’s governor can be traced to some of his failure.

“Sen. Nurudeen Ademola Adeleke is not Ajibola Basiru at all. Therefore, he can never fail. The government of Gov Ademola Adeleke can never be compare to the poor governace of Sen. Ajibola Basiru and his party APC.

” APC permutation in making just defeated Senator Ajibola Basiru who is the present National Secretary APC to motivate the people of Osun State is just a waste of time and effort in futility.

“Osun Leadership Forum implores the good people of Osun State not to be distracted by the APC, the opposition party that had suffered the state for good twelve years.

“The story of half salary in Osun State will not be forgotten. The current issue of subsidy removal that has put many people into abject poverty is another lesson and a testimony that APC should be totally avoided .

“If anybody would talk about good governance not somebody like Sen. Ajibola Basiru who lost his Senatorial constituency in second term to Sen. Fadeyi of PDP. However, we want Sen. Ajibola Basiru to always see the result of Osun Central Senator Election, 2022 as payback to his poor performance.

“Gov. Ademola Adeleke second term is unshakeable. His good works and performance will speak for him. PDP has the larger population currently in the state, election is for majority and not for minority like APC or Sen. Ajibola Basiru.”

Osun Leadership Forum admonished the good people of the state to brush off Sen. Ajibola Basiru’s criticism about the government of Gov. Ademola Adeleke second term.
