Marble Capital Limited, a leading ethical investment firm in Nigeria, is wishing the Offa Volleyball Club (OVC) the best of luck in the Nigerian Volleyball Federation League.
OVC is the defending champions of the league and is currently sponsored by Marble Capital Limited.
The sponsorship is one of the ways through which the Company demonstrates its commitment to making impacts across various sectors, such as but not limited to sports, education, health, entertainment, and the environment.
The Company was drawn to the Offa Volleyball Club as underdogs in the League who left the league in awe with their performance in the last tournament, which led to their defeating major contenders in the League.
The Company views the OVC as rough diamonds that will eventually metamorphose into precious jewels.
The CEO of Marble Capital Limited, Dr. Akeem Oyewale, said the Company was proud to sponsor the team as well as make them brand ambassadors of the company. “We believe that they have the potential to be one of the best volleyball teams in Nigeria,” he said.
The company believes that sports play a powerful role in promoting positive change in society, and it is committed to using its resources to help develop and grow the spirit of sportsmanship in Nigeria. The Company’s sponsorship of the club demonstrates its commitment to supporting three United Nations SDG goals (Goals 1, 3, and 8) in its drive and effort to inculcate ESG practices in Nigeria.
The Head of the Asset Management Department of Marble Capital Limited, Mr. Ismail Yahaya, while speaking on the sponsorship, opined that the Company wants to be a leading example for other Companies. He said, “We want to show that it is possible to be successful in business while also making a positive impact on the community. We believe that the Offa Volleyball Club is a great example of this, and we are proud to be supporting them.”
The club had its official kick-off of their Federation League match on the 13th of July 2023 against the Spartans of Yola, where the Offa volleyball club was victorious, winning with 3 points to nil. The team is doing everything possible to ensure that they can repeat history and retain their status as champions, and they are grateful for the support of Marble Capital Limited.
“We are very excited to be playing in the Federation League again,” said the coach of the team, Suleiman Ajeigbe. “We know that it will be a tough competition, but we are confident and fully prepared.
