Nigerian Judiciary has witnessed a lot of back and forth for quite some times now, which has raised a lot of controversies on weather the “Court is truly the last hope of common man” this is because hardly will you see a justice being prevailed in our society today.
It will be recalled that during the heavy cash crunch swap, the Supreme Court(Highest Court of the land) gave an order compiling the CBN to halt thier processes, but the CBN Governor Godwin Emeifele refused to obey the court order as at that time (Twices) which was obviously seen as disregarding the order of the court.
It would interest Nigerians that such occurrence is happening again with the recent grant of bail by the high court in lagos granted to the suspended Governor of CBN, Godwin Emeifele on the charges brought to it by the Department of State Services, DSS.
NOW the table has just turned the DSS has refused to obey the High court order prompting debates across all boards, just to remind us all that it’s not today that the Judiciary has being tempered with disregarding it’s order, that’s quite disgraceful and disrespectful to the court of the Land.
The DSS were reported to have acted on the order from above, well who gave the orders remains unknown.
Meanwhile, the adage which says “What goes around will surely comes around” will be perfectly suited here.
Emeifele remains in the hands of the DSS as against the court order given, but this seems like a payback time for mainly because of the charges brought up against him by the DSS doesn’t seems substantial enough but that would be the work of the court to determine.
However, the presidency has decided to remain mute prompting Nigerians to think maybe the actions of the DSS might just be coming from the federal government directives.
The fear, however, is the fate of common man who believes in the judiciary to get justices, but when prominent once are deprived of justice it may seems hard for common man to achieve.
It is hoped that the present administration will do well to allow for full independence of the judiciary so that citizens can atleast have full confidence in the delivery of justices.
Well Nigerians awaits how the events will unfold in the coming days, maybe weeks or even month.
