Unidentified political agitators have set ablaze the home of Olaojo Temitope Vincent’s father, a notable political figure in Ekiti.
Vincent, a former hopeful for the Ekiti House of Assembly, had prior conflicts with party leaders in his pursuit of candidacy.
This incident transpired on the evening of May 19, 2023, within Irona Quarters, Oye-Ekiti.
Preceding this, on April 13, 2023, there was an alleged assault by individuals linked to Vincent at the residence of Hon. Faniyi, resulting in the loss of a staff member’s life.
An eyewitness, Kayode Ilesanmi, recounted the intrusion, detailing the destruction of property before the structure was set ablaze.
Kayode, a local resident, further disclosed the assailants’ weaponry and their plundering of belongings, including the distressing abduction of a tenant named Mama Kemi.
Another witness, identified as Dolapo, conveyed the thugs’ threats of additional violence and property damage if Vincent did not curtail his involvement in local politics through his associate, Ige Adebayo.
At the time of reporting, firefighting services had not yet reached the scene, although law enforcement had intervened to disband the attackers.
