Adron Homes and Properties, a leading player in the Nigeria real estate industry, has been accused of defrauding customers who are prospective landowners, landlords.

According to replies to a Twitter thread which was initiated by a user identified as OG Waheed (@gboukzi) had many user of the micro-blogging platform narrate their ordeals while dealing with the real estate firm.

@gboukzi had on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 wrote “Anyone on my TL ever actually bought land from Adron Homes and actually BUILT IT and LIVED THERE?”

The tweet has garnered 1,500 Retweets, 276 Quotes and 2,825 Likes on Sunday.

@Engr_Series “Adron Homes is a fraudulent company. They allocated a piece of land in Shimawa, near the RCCG area, and gave a complementary bag of rice and keg of groundnut oil. Shimawa had experienced a developmental boost due to the presence of the Redeemed church.

“However, years after almost completing the payment, Adron Homes reallocated the land to an entirely different area, a proper tropical rainforest. This action seemed like a breach of agreement, so we decided to back out and requested a refund.

“Unfortunately, their terms and conditions booklet is heavily loaded in their favor, which protected them. They charged a huge percentage of the money as a default fee and even demanded we return the bag of rice and keg of groundnut oil we received before they refunded a ridiculous amount.

“If you want to buy your land, go to ọmọ onílẹ̀ jẹjẹ 🙏🏾”

Another user, @AdaezeIjeoma_ “A lawyer fully recovered my friend’s fund in Revolution minus. After over 4 years of payment, no allocation, nothing!

“Most of these companies use the same scam tactics.

“That the reallocated another place other than agreed is enough for a lawyer to pursue the case”

@gratefulhearrt1 “I need a lawyer as well because since 2017 that I bought land with revolution plus they are yet to allocate the land for me. They keep on coming up with dry excuses. I’m tired I swear”

@mrlurvy “Lmaooo. I doubt.”

@Pearlie_DO “They’re always selling land that is not complete 🫠 so I really doubt it.”

@steffieAdie “My mother will cry 😩🤭. She bought too, let me ask her how it went 🤭”

@biodun_alao “Many of these real estate firms are deceptive. They come with different juicy plans of payment. I’ve been very circumspect about many of the offers they gave me. Many are hiding under this, to defraud people with deceptive tactics. In the end, you’ll be left stranded.”

However, @chris_da_genius said” Adron would never insist you use their contractors. They don’t force a design on you. You only have to make sure that your contractor is COREN certified.
The only part they insist is that their architects draw your building plan, which is usually at a discounted rate.

“I’m telling you something as someone who has a first hand experience.

“If you were to design an estate, you’d definitely want a level of consistency in pattern and general outlook. So it’s not out of place if you decide that they’re done by one. Moreover dey tell you ahead.”

Also, @tundealuko said “2021, na them inspire the tweet 😂✌️” and shared one of his tweets dated December 29, 2021 where he wrote “Random – you know those real estate companies with those offers to buy land and get rams, goats and cows, all I see about them are massive gatehouse and fences built in the middle of nowhere, does anyone know anyone who actually lives in the “completed” estates?”

In its reaction, Adron Homes and Properties described the allegations of fraud as untrue.

A reliable source who pleaded anonymity asserted: “You know what it means when issues get online. Even someone who has never bought a pen before will say he/she has ten lands with us. You understand what I’m saying? People come online and say anything. I know people who doesn’t have any business with the company, but will still jump on the thread. Because they want to gain followers.”

He however confirmed that the firm has contacted the duo of @Engr_Series and OG Waheed (@gboukzi) and settled their cases.

“The OG Waheed, one of the bloggers that say all sort of things, he reached out to us and we explained. He said we should roll out a form for people to lodge their complains. If you have any problems, come to our DM, come to our website, you can log in your complaints.

“It’s not a problem, it’s an open communication. It’s like an open business.

The company doesn’t want to make it an issue, we don’t want to issue a press release. We didn’t tell him land has finished from where (the estate) he bought it. We gave him another land and he said he doesn’t want, and we gave him his money.”

On @Engr_Series, he said: “we said we will relocate you from this place to another estate. When I say relocate, I mean we just relocate him to a close proximity. It’s like a two minute trek on the same road. Some clients say this (new) place makes more sense. The two are of same value, same price.

“He said he didn’t want and he said he wanted his refund, and the company gave him the refund as requested. They refunded him.

“The only problem we are having with this guy is why did he make it a thread on Twitter.

“The company has reached out to this guy, ‘you have collected your refund and you still went online to be saying all these things about us, what do you want to gain from this?’

“We are saying ‘okay, let’s manage this thing’. The company doesn’t want to release any statement, for them it’s not an issue. You have collected your refund and there’s nothing like a fraud you are painting. He have been settled. Why would he still come online and be blackmailing the company; it’s uncalled for.

“Collecting refund is like the end of business, isn’t it?”
