A resident of the university community fatally stabbed a student at Adekunle Ajasin University Akungba-Akoko, Aaua, on Thursday evening, sending fear across Akungba-Akoko, Akoko South West Local Government Area of Ondo State.
A quarrel over N1,000 between the student and the suspect, who is presently on the run, is said to have led to the student, known only as Akintola, being stabbed.
Discontent in the neighborhood was brought on by the off-campus occurrence.
After the incident, someone set fire to a building that belonged to the fleeing native’s kin.
When reached, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, the state’s police public relations officer, confirmed the event.
She said the student was confirmed dead at the hospital where he was rushed.
“An indigene had an issue with a student, and one thing led to another, and he stabbed the student, which resulted in the student’s death,” she said.
