Beyond tribal consideration for many counter-intuitive arguments against Professor Wọlé Sóyínká being a Yoruba elder and a respectable personality, he is a literary giant whose art has impacted the world to an immeasurable extent.
Against many odds, Professor Wọlé Sóyínká had witnessed and survived reigns of many governments, both military and civilian, most of which had threatened his human-rights activism. Let history do the justifications.
Today, Professor Kongi has been immortalized in many of us, deeply rooted in our blood through his enthusiasm and dauntless fonts in the face of injustice. Even, these are evident in many of his literatures which depict different reigns of power-shift in government. Who, then, dare prove Sóyínká irrelevant while after agelong impacts made, there’s always a Sóyínká in us.
Thus, the so-called OBIdient outcries in dire and trying times like this amounts to nothing but a threat to national unity and security, truth be told.
And, that Professor Wọlé Sóyínká’s intellectual intervention and contribution to Nigeria politics is insignificant is but a mere rant.
To avoid beating around the bush, Nigeria is a collective project; any attempt to set it on fire by anyone conferring on him/herself as a e-human right activist, public figure, political gladiators or whatsoever without saner contribution or being open to corrective criticism on his/her action or inaction won’t be condoned.
By the virtue of moral onus conferred on advocate of better Nigeria like myself and few reasonable others, we won’t be moved by illogical popular opinion, diatribe, banter by hordes of e-gnoramuses (ignoramuses) plagued with proper knowledge of the working of international cum diplomatic political relationship.
Most of these e-diots are suffering from inferiority complex and this has metamorphosed to their quick yet dogmatic acceptance of pseudo-political view by popular political gladiators, public figure for the sake of gaining public validity.
