The Offa Descendant Union (ODU), under the leadership of Alhaji Olaniyi Muideen Azeez Salako, has congratulated Muslims in Offa and across the world on the completion of the Ramadan fasting and Eid el Fitr celebration.
In a congratulatory message issued by the union’s National Social Secretary and Ag NPRO on behalf of the National President, Alhaji Salako urged the faithful to practice the lessons of the celebration of which given out to the less privileged is significant.
“Eid el Fitr is an all-important day to give charity and remember those far less fortunate than we are. Whilst we are out buying new clothes for the celebration of Eid and preparing extravagant meals, it is also important to remember those who do not have these options readily available to them,” the statement said.
Alhaji Salako also implored all levels of the government to pay attention to all the social injustices and ills that Ramadhan came to eliminate in the interest of humanity.
“We are all human beings before belonging to any group, and the sanctity of humanity must be maintained, of which justice and peace are paramount. I urge the government at all levels to be just in their dealings.”
The national president prays to Almighty Allah that the spirit of community, compassion, and service we have witnessed over the last month should continue throughout the year and beyond.
