A former Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Nasiru Nono, has lost his life in a serious road accident.
He lost his life in an accident which happened along the Abuja-Keffi expressway, on Thursday, March 23.
Nono hailed from Yamaltu/Deba Local Government Area of the State.
The former Secretary of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP in the state, Buba Shanu, described the death of the former legislator as unfortunate and a loss to the PDP and the state.
Shanu narrated that Nono was on transit with a former House of Assembly member, Hon. Haruna Fada, when the accident occurred.
He revealed that Fada was hospitalized and currently receiving medical attention.
He said: “He (Nono), died in a ghastly motor accident along the Abuja Keffi expressway. He was travelling with Hon. Haruna Usman Fada, a former House of Assembly member who survived and is currently receiving treatment.
The Governor of the state, Yahaya Inuwa, expressed his sympathy in a condolence message made available on Thursday, March 23.
He described the passing of the ex-speaker as a loss to his family, the entire State and Nigeria.
