Governor of Oyo State Makinde finally asks Oyo residents to vote for Atiku

Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo has urged voters in Oyo State to “vote for PDP from the top to bottom” in the upcoming polls. Mr. Makinde gave the advice in an e-newsletter shared on Thursday, ahead of the presidential and National Assembly elections for February 25.
Mr. Makinde’s call deviates from his previous stance not to aid the election of People’s Democratic Party’s presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar. The governor, alongside 4 different governors in the PDP (popularly recognized as the G-5) has for months railed in opposition to Mr. Abubakar and the party leadership over differences in the composition of the party’s presidential ticket and the headship of the PDP, which are being held by the northerners.
In the newsletter got by People’s Gazette on Thursday, the Oyo governor asked his supporters to inspire undecided voters to strictly pick his party, the PDP, on the ballot.
